Anja Diabolik was born in Germany, where she played with Thee Cherylinas, before moving to London and international infamy with The Diaboliks. Her global trek continued with a move to San Diego, California in 1998. She now plays bass guitar in The Loons, as well as running San Diego's coolest '60s nightclub, Hipsters. English-born Mike Stax moved to San Diego as a teenager to play British R&B with the Crawdaddys, before forming the Tell-Tale Hearts, the Hoods and finally The Loons. He is the editor and publisher of Ugly Things magazine, and has written liner notes for numerous '60s reissues, including the acclaimed Nuggets box sets. Anja and Mike will DJ together, spinning a prime selection '60s freakbeat and garage favourites.

Rob Bailey, London, UK. 31 years young Started Djing many moons ago, way back in the last century round 1985AD Involved heavily in the Mod/60's Scene with the New Untouchables and various London Club nights. www.newuntouchables.com Been lucky enough to have experienced travelling all over the World Djing in Japan, USA and most European countries attending nearly all the major Mod and 60's clubs, events, festivals and weekenders and had a bloody brilliant time. I also run a mailorder record business called R'n'B Records dealing mainly in original 45's + LP's covering R'n'B, Freakbeat, Ska, Northern Soul, Jazz, Latin, Boogaloo, Blues, Funk, Garage Punk, Beat, Psych, Pop and 60's Rock with a bit of Mod Revival and a few CD's and reissue LP's and 45's. freespace.virgin.net/rnb.records Currently running 3 London Club nights including the longest running Mod night ever the Mousetrap Allnighter, Hipsters and Fab. My interests include Football (playing and watching partically Chelsea which is sometimes very painful). I am on the Antwerp-Belgian Mod scene since 1989 and DJ around Europe since 1991. I am also band member of 'The Beat Set' who are back on the road again to celebrate their 10th anniverary ! Since 1991 I bring a weekly radio show called 'Grow Your Own' on Radio Centraal 103.9 FM . Here I give the audience the chance to discover a wide range of Mod sounds in all music styles, going over to psychedelic and early progressive Rock For the Purple Weekend I will take a nice selection of British & Continental Beat and Psych music with me . I will play a combination of classics with new discovered records, as I always do ! I look forward to see you all again in the right party mood !

I'm more than happy to be invited in Leon. I first went to the Purple week-end more than 10 years ago and several times since then. I have a lot of good memories linked with this Festival. Top concerts, great atmosphere and I've met so many cool people ! In my spare time I'm a record collector and seller. During the weekend I will play a mix of hammond grooves, 60's soul & latin stuff with a touch of french rarities. Be seeing you!

Desde hace seis años soy una parte del Purple Weeekend y cada año ha sido estupendo. Recuerdo la primera vez que Winki y yo hemos conducido por la "Pampa" Con cada kilometro hemos estado mas escepticos por saber que nos esperaba, pero fue y sigue siendo la mejor concentracion mod-sixties. Por eso una cosa esta clara, tambien este año va a ser fantastico. Voy a hacer todo para satisfacer a la gente en el dance-floor con una buena seleccion de Soul y Beat, pero para esto necesito que me reserveis un camion cargado de Gin Tonic.

Mis compañeros se me presentaron como las múltiples caras de la Morsa y me informaron de que el Viaje al Norte tenía su última parada en el Purple. Todo lo que me encontré allí es lo que hace que año tras año repita más ilusionado el trayecto, ahora ya desde Palma de Mallorca. Ni puedo ni quiero explicártelo con palabras, pruébalo tú mismo…a mí siempre me verás mientras el Purple o mis piernas aguanten. Espero que tú también lo encuentres.”

Eneida Fever! organizadora (a la par que pinchadiscos) del Magic In The Air Club, único lugar hasta la fecha en el que poder disfrutar, con una infalible cadencia mensual (a veces quincenal) de bandas y Djs dedicados a los 60 en su vertiente más pop y rock, sin descartar escarceos con la música negra y ritmos más cercanos al groove. desde los 16 años ha estado haciendo varias cosas dentro de la escena modernista, como el fanzine Dr. Spock o la hoja informativa mensual de gran éxito Fever! junto con Albert Gil está en Bip Bip Records, sello independiente barcelonés que tiene en sus filas a bandas como Sidonie, Octubre, Strawberry Smell, Pleasure Beach, Gurus, Flint, Jan, Sweet Apple Pie, etc,..... como plataforma del sello empezaran a programar en la sala Sidecar las fiestas llamadas Flying Zircus. Ha estado pinchando en varios paises europeos como Alemania, Francia, Inglaterra, Holanda e Italia, al igual que en varios eventos nacionales como el Purple Weekend, EuroYeye Weekend, Peppermint Weekend, Mods SOS, etc,...

Sergi G 25 años Diseñador Gráfico Mis gustos musicales son bastante amplios aunque a la hora de pinchar se centran en los sonidos de los 60 y 70 especialmente el beat, garage y la psicodelia que són los estilos que predominan en mis sets . De todas maneras a estos se le suman el soul, funk, rare grooves aunque ya muy de vez en cuando. Actualmente resido como Dj en el mítico Magic In The Air Club de Barcelona que se celebra una vez al més. Organizador del Purple Weekend y miembro fundador de Los Flechazos y Cooper, este enamorado de la Era Pop ha sido dj mod en numerosos saraos en España, Italia y Alemania.Escucharás en sus sets freakbeat, british R&B y eurobeat por un tubo. Sus temas favoritos del momento son "The Thought of You" (Cherokees), "Long Tall Shorty"(Graham Bond),"Mr. Pharmacist" (Other Half) y "Border Town" (Sharon Tandy). Seguro que acude a despedir la Tropicana en Lambretta, aunque nieve!!

¡Cumplimos 16 años!. Llevo tantas allnighters... La música ha ido cambiando y yo he sido una víctima más de las modas que hemos disfrutado o sufrido: soul de la Kent, los English Freakbeat, los Bam Caruso, Nuggets.. el paso del LP al 7", el Nederbeat, el Eurobeat, el "Heavy-mod"... Un montón de nuevas canciones alucinantes que nos han hecho bailar a lo largo de estos años... pero que no han borrado de mi mente a los "clásicos". Me sigue poniendo los pelos de punta la voz de Georgie Fame (¿le reconoces en la foto?), el Hammond de Billy Preston o la guitarra de Eddie Phillips. Seguro que entre las canciones que pincharé este año si no muero de emoción el Jueves a las 10:30 estará el "Sunshine Superman" de Wynder K. Frog, "Cryin' Inside" de Mouse and The Traps o "I Need You" de los Rationals.
